I'm an independent embedded developer. I work as a one-man army or as part of a larger team: I have shipped startup products as the only firmware engineer, and worked as a contractor with the engineering teams of large companies. Since 2016 I have contributed to Apache NuttX, with over 2,000 commits upstream.
What I do
Product firmware. System and firmware architecture, development and testing, from first prototype to shipped product.
R&D. Prototypes and proofs of concept, built and tested in my own embedded lab.
Reverse engineering. Undocumented hardware, protocols and existing firmware.
Architecture and board bring-up. New chips and custom boards. Author of many upstream NuttX ports.
System components. OS internals, drivers, networking and protocol stacks, bootloaders, multi-core and IPC.
Optimization. Flash and RAM footprint, latency and throughput.
Testing and CI. Simulator, QEMU and hardware-in-the-loop. Author of NTFC and NuttX Testlab.
Upstream integration. Migrating and syncing private forks, upstreaming in-house work.
